What do you understand by Asthma?

Asthma is a respiratory disease, which is also called as long-term lung disease. It is caused by the narrowing of airways. What is Duova Inhaler?

Duova inhaler is a long-acting 2-agonist which is prescribed for controlling the symptoms of asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). After the breathing of Duova inhaler, it helps to expand up the narrow airways, and treats the patients from asthma. Duova inhaler is a mixture of two major compounds named as Tiotropium Bromide and Formoterol Fumarate. The symptoms usually change with time. The main reason behind COPD is bronchospasm. Some symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder are; stiffness of the chest, breathless and shortness of breathing. It has 9mcg of Tiotropium Bromide and 6mcg of Formoterol Fumarate.

The standard dose of this Duova inhaler is 2 puffs one time in a day, one puff in the morning and another in the evening. The dose of Duova inhaler depends on the various factors like age, sex, therapeutic effects, metabolic rate, severity of sick conditions, how you respond to the medicine and much more. Mechanism of Action

It has two major compounds which have separate mechanism of action:

Tiotropium Bromide: It belongs from anticholinergic bronchodilator. Tiotropium bromide blocks the discharge of Acetylcholine from the synaptic cleft of neurons. In this way the relaxation of the smooth muscles takes place and it is not allowed to treat mild attack of asthma.

Formoterol Fumarate:Formoterol Fumarate is beta 2 receptor agonists. The main purpose of Formoterol Fumarate is to relax the smooth muscles of the bronchioles and to obstruct the production of chemicals. These chemicals are discharged from various types of cell; Mast cells, basophils, eosinophils, neutrophils, and much more. These cell types release few chemicals named as Cytokines, eicosanoids, and Leukotrienes.

How to take

€Shake it well before use by which all compounds are mixed together.
€Clean the cover of the mouthpiece.
€Then join the mouthpiece with the inhaler.
€Priming should be done, until it produces a fine mist.
€Put the mouthpiece of the inhaler in the mouth then cover it with your lips.
€Push the lid and breathe in the medicament deeply and smoothly.
€Grasp your breath for 10 seconds.
€Then breathe out through your nostrils.
€Then cover the mouthpiece with its cap.

Safety measures!
€ Do not use this inhaler if the patient is suffering from such conditions like hypersensitive reaction, glaucoma, heart disorder, lung and throat infection, hyperthyroidism and hepatic or renal disorders.
€ Should be used according to the prescription, for effective result don't skipped the dose.
€ Avoid using those inhalers which are expired.
€ Do not use it three times in a day and protect your eyes from it.
